The Texas-based psych-rock trio Khruangbin are releasing their fourth album A la Sala via the Dead Oceans label. Khruangbin is a live show must-see; if you haven’t witnessed them shred in person, fix that ASAP.
Single “May Ninth” feels like pure music therapy, setting high expectations for this Friday’s drop.
The Black Keys - Ohio Players
Get Vinyl: Galaxy/Cool Blue | Apple Red | B&N Silver | Black
Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney of The Black Keys get by with a little help from their friends on their 12th album, with contributions from Dan “The Automator” Nakamura, Beck, Noel Gallagher, and Greg Kurstin, among others.
Vampire Weekend - Only God Was Above Us
Get Vinyl: Blue and Black, UV Graffiti Sleeve | Silver | Clear | Black
Happy Vampire Weekend week! Ezra Koenig, Chris Tomson, and Chris Baio are back, following up their 2019 double album Father of the Bride with a promise of “10 tracks, no skips.” True to their word, their fifth album Only God Was Above Us delivers an all-killer, no-filler experience.
Last week’s single was the banging “Mary Boone,” which joins “Hannah Hunt” and “Diane Young” on the list of Vampire Weekend songs named after women. The song’s visualizer features Queens rapper Despot cruising through the Lincoln Tunnel from Hoboken into Manhattan.
Only God Was Above Us is one of my favorite albums of the year thus far; full review coming tomorrow in The Weekender.

girl in red - I’M DOING IT AGAIN BABY!
Get Vinyl: UO Exclusive Blue | White | Black
Norwegian pop singer Marie Ulven is doing it again with her second album out through Columbia Records. She describes this one as an “elevated” version of her breakout 2021 debut If I Could Make It Go Quiet.
Maggie Rogers - Don’t Forget Me
Get Vinyl: Milky White | Nightgown
Don’t Forget Me is the upcoming third album from indie pop-country artist Maggie Rogers, who co-produced and wrote the album with producer Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves’ Golden Hour). Her vision for the album is to encapsulate the essence of a "Sunday afternoon," aiming to create a record that feels as comforting and familiar as the end of the weekend.
Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary (30th Anniversary)
Get Vinyl: Pearl
Sunny Day Real Estate and Sub Pop celebrate 30 years of Diary with a pearl colored remaster. This new version coincides with the band's 2024 US tour commemorating this anniversary. The band’s debut was the seventh-best selling record in Sub Pop’s history.

Boldy James and Nicholas Craven - Penalty of Leadership
Get Vinyl: Clear and Silver Galaxy | Yellow Marble | Black
Just a year removed from a near-fatal car accident that left him with fractured vertebrae, Detroit's own Boldy James pushed through to create Penalty of Leadership. The record, which dropped in January and landed on our 25 Best Albums of 2024 So Far list, is almost ready for your turntable.
Cloud Nothings - Final Summer
Get Vinyl: Yellow/Blue Pinwheel | UO Exclusive Tri-Stripe | Black
The ever-reliable Cloud Nothings are celebrating their eighth album in fifteen years, titled Final Summer; early singles have them sounding as good as ever. Expect plenty of infectious hooks and earth-shattering drum beats.
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing... (Reissue)
Get Vinyl: Black
Constructed entirely of samples, DJ Shadow’s debut album is celebrated as a landmark achievement in instrumental hip-hop and electronic music. Endtroducing’s exploration of atmosphere and rhythm pushed the boundaries of what could be achieved using turntables and a sampler. This vinyl release is a repress of the 2021 Abbey Road anniversary remaster.
Local Natives - But I’ll Wait For You
Get Vinyl: Mercury | Blue Vinyl with coffee | Black
Last year, indie stalwarts Local Natives released Time Will Wait For No One, which landed 78th on our 100 Best Records of 2023 list. They’re following it up with a sequel, But I’ll Wait For You, finishing the first half of last year’s sentence. This announcement took fans by surprise, especially with its swift arrival on the heels of their last album. I have high hopes, as lead single “April” already sounds better than anything on the former record.
Pearl Jam - Dark Matter
Get Vinyl: Red Galaxy | Crystal Clear | Black
In recent interviews, it seems like Pearl Jam is apologizing for their last album, 2020’s mellow and reflective Gigaton, and promising a louder, more rock-forward return to form with Dark Matter.
Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department
Get Vinyl: Ghosted White
Taylor Swift is the undisputed queen of vinyl, a title underscored by staggering statistics: last year, one in every 15 vinyl albums sold in the USA bore her name. In a vinyl market that saw sales soar to $50 million in 2023, Swift's contributions were monumental, with her albums generating $3.4 million in sales. This accounts for an astonishing 7% of the entire industry's revenue, showcasing her unparalleled influence and the fervent dedication of her fanbase.

Hoven hive assemble! New York duo Babehoven return with sophomore album Water's Here In You. This latest work sees them continue to traverse the indie folk terrain, with plenty of haunting and atmospheric tones around the edges.

Iron & Wine - Light Verse
Get Vinyl: “Loser” Blue Swirl
Iron & Wine’s Sam Beam’s seventh album comes after a period of writer's block that spanned the entire pandemic, a challenging time for many artists. Beam's return is not just a solo journey; it features collaborations from many artists, including Fiona Apple and a 24-piece orchestra.
Justice - Hyperdrama
Get Vinyl: Clear | Picture Disc | Black
After a seven-year hiatus, the French electro-disco powerhouse Justice are back with their latest album, Hyperdrama, prominently featuring Kevin Parker’s Tame Impala on two standout tracks. Justice will debut their new live show at their headlining gig during next weekend’s Coachella.
Portishead - Roseland NYC Live (25th Anniversary)
Get Vinyl: Red
Portishead's 1998 live album, Roseland NYC Live, is set to receive a physical reissue on striking red vinyl. The band performed selections from Dummy and their self-titled album, accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra.
There doesn’t seem to be many vinyl left; less than 40 in stock as of this pressing.
ScHoolboy Q - BLUE LIPS
Get Vinyl: Blue
Possibly standing as the hip-hop album of the year thus far, Ohio's ScHoolboy Q marks his triumphant comeback with his sixth studio album BLUE LIPS, which landed #13 on our Top Albums of 2024 So Far list.
St. Vincent - All Born Screaming
Get Vinyl: Clementine | UO Exclusive Black/White Split | White | Black
Last but not least, we have Annie Clark taking the helm as producer for the first time on her eighth St. Vincent album. She refers to this one as “post-plague pop” and assembled an all-star crew to help her including Dave Grohl, Josh Freese, Cate Le Bon, Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa, and Beck's Justin Meldal-Johnsen. Put all that together and judging by the first single, “Broken Man,” you get a very Nine Inch Nails feel from St. Vincent. More like St NINcent!… (I’m sorry).
