Buckingham Nicks - Buckingham Nicks
Get Vinyl: High Fidelity | Yellow | Baby Pink | Baby Blue
Release Date: September 19
Let’s start with perhaps the most anticipated remaster of 2025: Buckingham Nicks, the long-lost 1973 album from Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, is finally getting an official reissue on September 19 as part of Rhino’s excellent High Fidelity series. Sourced from the original analog master tapes and remastered by legend Kevin Gray, this release marks the first proper return to vinyl for a cult classic that’s been out of print for decades and missing from streaming entirely.
The story of Buckingham Nicks is rock folklore: the album tanked on release, but one track, “Frozen Love,” helped convince Mick Fleetwood to bring the pair into the Mac in late 1974. Long eclipsed by what came after, Buckingham Nicks finally gets its due as a standalone gem.
MGMT - Time to Pretend (20th Anniversary)
Get Vinyl: Ghost Tie-Dye | Pink | Avocado Green | Banana Yellow
Release Date: September 26
It’s time to pretend it hasn’t been 20 years since MGMT dropped their debut EP, but the math doesn’t lie, and now I feel ancient. Originally self-released in 2005 while the duo were still at Wesleyan, Time to Pretend returns to vinyl for the first time in a decade, complete with early versions of future mega hits “Kids” and the title track. Two decades later, MGMT is still going strong, with Loss of Life landing in my Top 10 Records of 2024.
The Zombies - Odessey and Oracle (Mono Remaster)
Get Vinyl: Mellotron | Zombies Blue | Black
Release Date: September 26
Later this month, The Zombies will release a newly remastered mono edition of their 1968 psych-pop masterpiece, marking the first time the original mono mix has been available on vinyl in the U.S.
Originally recorded at Abbey Road on a shoestring budget, the album was rushed into stereo at the last minute, sacrificing details like the horn section on “This Will Be Our Year.” This new pressing restores the original intent, remastered from the studio tapes. Featuring classics like “Time of the Season” and “Care of Cell 44,” this is one of rock’s all-time great albums, finally heard the way it was meant to be.
My Morning Jacket - Z (20th Anniversary)
Get Vinyl: Pink, Coral, Blue
Release Date: October 3
My Morning Jacket are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their masterpiece Z with a triple vinyl deluxe edition, featuring a fresh remaster along with 14 outtakes, demos, and unreleased gems. Among the highlights is “Where to Begin,” a pedal steel laced stunner originally recorded for Cameron Crowe’s Elizabethtown that feels right at home in today’s alt-country revival.
This era of MMJ was so locked in. B-sides like “Where to Begin,” “Chills,” “How Could I Know,” and “Devil’s Peanut Butter” show just how deep the well went during these Z sessions.
Here’s my personal favorite moment from the album: the three minute guitar solo jam sesh at the end of “Laylow.” Here it is live, ripped from the Okonokos DVD.
Mac Miller - K.I.D.S. (15th Anniversary)
Get Vinyl: Red, Blue, Yellow
Release Date: October 10
Mac Miller’s estate continues to give fans what they want with a b-e-a-utiful tri-color vinyl pressing for the 15th anniversary of K.I.D.S. If this classic mixtape isn’t already in your collection, now’s the perfect excuse.
Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska 82: Expanded Edition
Get Vinyl: 4 LP Box Set
Release Date: October 17
Let’s gooo! It’s officially happening — we're getting Electric Nebraska, and yesterday we got a taste with the raw, angry, electric version of “Born in the USA.” What a time to be alive.
With the feature film Deliver Me From Nowhere hitting theaters next month, Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition arrives as the definitive companion to The Boss’ most mythologized era. The 4-LP + 1 Blu-Ray box set includes a 2025 remaster of the original album, 17 bonus tracks (15 previously unreleased), the long-rumored Electric Nebraska sessions with the E Street Band, and a new performance film of all ten Nebraska songs played in sequence.
Imogen Heap - Speak for Yourself (20th Anniversary)
Get Vinyl: Floral Magenta | Splatter | Black
Release Date: October 17
First, a quick aside on Imogen Heap before we get into Speak for Yourself. If you're a parent of a baby or toddler and they’re in full meltdown mode, put on “The Happy Song.” It was scientifically designed to calm babies, and I can confirm from experience that it works like magic.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Heap’s groundbreaking Speak for Yourself, and to celebrate, she’s giving it a proper reissue. Entirely self-written and self-produced, the album still feels fresh today. It features a killer run of songs including “Headlock,” “Goodnight and Go,” “Just for Now,” and of course, the iconic “Hide and Seek,” which found new life on The O.C. and eventually reached meme immortality via The Lonely Island.
The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree (20th Anniversary)
Get Vinyl: Apricot
Release Date: October 17
Let’s celebrate another 20-year milestone with The Sunset Tree, the ninth album by The Mountain Goats and arguably their finest work. Written after John Darnielle’s abusive stepfather passed away, the album marks a rare moment of autobiographical songwriting in a catalog of over 800 songs. Across 13 deeply personal tracks, Darnielle reflects on his childhood home and the cast of people who shaped it. It’s not a wallow in trauma, but a redemptive, life-affirming record that stares darkness in the eye and refuses to flinch.
The Replacements - Let It Be (Deluxe Edition)
Get Vinyl: 4 LP Box Set
Release Date: October 24
The Replacements’ Let It Be remains one of the most beloved albums of the 1980s, and it’s finally getting the archival treatment it deserves. The new 4 LP deluxe edition features a fresh remaster from the original analog tapes, plus rare studio outtakes, Paul Westerberg home demos, and all five bonus tracks from the 2008 expanded edition.
The crown jewel might be Goodnight! Go Home!, a previously unreleased 28-song live set recorded at the Cubby Bear in Chicago just months before the album dropped. The set captures the band’s raw, unhinged brilliance at full volume. Packaged with a 20-page booklet featuring new liner notes by Elizabeth Nelson, this edition offers both a fresh perspective and a reminder of just how much lightning was packed into Let It Be.
Sky Ferreira - Night Time, My Time
Get Vinyl: Iridescent Green | Split with Splatter | Green
Release Date: November 7
Sky Ferreira’s Night Time, My Time is finally back on vinyl for the first time in over a decade with multiple colorways. A cult classic since its 2013 release, Ferreira’s raw, synth-drenched debut blends cinematic alt-pop with grungy confessional energy. Long considered a grail for collectors — the original pressing often fetches over $500 — this reissue brings the iconic album (and its unforgettable Gaspar Noé-shot cover) back to the shelves for just $30. Patience pays off… now if only Sky would give us album number two.
