Welcome back to our newest exhibit here at The Wax Museum, where I share my album-a-day habit with liner notes and a playlist perfect for vinyl collectors and new music seekers.
Much of what I listen to revolves around vinyl—deals, reissues, and new releases—making this journal beneficial for anyone looking to expand their collection or discover their new favorite record. Each album includes links to buy on vinyl, stream online, and explore further on Discogs.
Lastly, follow Vinyl on Sale on Twitter for all daily drops and discounts. Expect about 5-10 tweets daily. OK, happy collecting and let’s dig in.

June 1: The Marias - Submarine (2024)
Get Vinyl: Iceberg | Iridescent White | Discogs
Let’s start the month off right with The Marias’ sonic leap of a sophomore album Submarine, featuring one of my favorite songs of the year, the melancholic gem “No One Noticed.” The ethereal vocals float over a mellow guitar beat, building to a mid-song crescendo and intertwining with a wobbly drum pattern, perfectly capturing the narrator’s unraveling mind.
June 2: The Killers - Hot Fuss (2004)
Get Vinyl: Black | Discogs
Happy 20 years to Hot Fuss, which has one of the best A-sides in history with “Smile Like You Mean It,” “Somebody Told Me,” “All These Things That I’ve Done,” and “Mr Brightside.” The latter is the second most streamed song on Spotify of the 2000s.
June 3: From Indian Lakes - Head Void (2024)
Get Vinyl: Splatter | Eco | Clear | White | Black | Discogs
This is my first listen to From Indian Lakes, and I'm loving what they’re throwing down. Their new album Head Void is a killer blend of indie rock and shoegaze, with washed-out vocals and raw, emotional lyrics that hit just right.
June 4: London Grammar - The Remixes (2023)
Get Vinyl: Green | Discogs
London Grammar released The Remixes exclusively for UK’s Record Store Day 2024 and I'm thrilled to finally have this in my collection. Nothing suits house remixes better than Hannah Reid’s vocals. The tour de force on side B featuring Flume, Disclosure, and Arty is worth the price alone.
June 5: Ultraboss - Yachtmaster (2022)
Get Vinyl: Superboss | Discogs
I went in blind on this one, allured by the album art, title, and the turquoise splatter vinyl that dropped today.
This was a blast to listen to, an inspired blend of synthwave and arena rock; think The Midnight meets REO Speedwagon. Top tracks for me include "Prisoner of the Night," "Nightcry," and "More Than Ever Tonight."
June 6: Goat - Commune (2014)
Get Vinyl: Bloodshot Clear | Discogs
Sub Pop is celebrating ten years of Goat’s classic Commune with a new colored vinyl pressing, limited to 400 copies.
I gave this a listen on a run, and it was basically a spiritual experience. I was grinning ear to ear, soaking in the sludged-up psychedelia.
June 7: Gregory Porter - Be Good (2012)
Get Vinyl: Black | Discogs
Seeing the jazz legend Gregory Porter in concert tonight and listening to my favorite record of his. Speaking of, question for my readers: do you listen to artists the day you see them, or would you rather not get sick of them beforehand?
June 8: Dehd - Poetry (2024)
Get Vinyl: Frost | Black | Discogs
Chicago three-piece Dehd dropped their latest sun-kissed album last month, and the highlight is the hazy, disco-tinged “Mood Ring.”
June 9: Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca (2009)
Get Vinyl: Blue and Red Color in Clear | Discogs
Happy 15 years to the peak of David Longstreth’s powers with Dirty Projectors’ fifth album Bitte Orca. The genre-defying masterpiece includes tracks like "Stillness Is the Move" and "Temecula Sunrise" that blend catchy hooks with intricate musicality.
In 2020, Vinyl Me, Please released a gorgeous colored double album that matches the cover and features bonus and live tracks. Best of all, it can be added to your collection via Discogs for around $15.
June 10: The Waterboys - This Is The Sea (1985)
Get Vinyl: Clear | Discogs
I was reading
’s article on The Best “Making Of An Album” Box Sets, and he gave out Scottish folk rock band The Waterboys’ 1985 as a bonus pick, which covers the making of This Is The Sea.Where has This Is The Sea been all my life? This was another one I listened to on a run and by the third track I was fist-pumping like The Situation. Punchy rock that’s epic in all the right ways. Now, I guess I have to dive into 1985, which is a ridiculous 95 tracks long.
June 11: Bernard Purdie - Purdie Good! (1971)
Get Vinyl: Black | Discogs
Happy 85th birthday to legendary jazz drummer Bernard Purdie, creator of the Purdie Shuffle drum pattern, a blues shuffle variation with syncopated ghost notes on the snare drum. He plays this shuffle on many Steely Dan hits; here's an entertaining clip of Fagan, Becker, and Purdie talking about his amazing drumming.
June 12: Good Looks - Lived Here For A While (2024)
Get Vinyl: Magenta | Discogs
One of my favorite albums of the year is Good Looks’ second record Lived Here For A While. Here’s a snippet from my review:
Lived Here For A While is a hook-filled album produced by Dan Duszynski (Loma). Think Tom Petty's Americana charm mixed with War on Drugs guitar riffs, all wrapped in passionate, blue-collar lyricism.
And the best part? This album is a joyride from start to finish. No slog, no pretentious experimental detours—just 40 minutes of pure, good vibes.
June 13: Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication (1999)
Get Vinyl: Red and Blue | Discogs
One of the quintessential '90s pop rock records, Californication, turns 25. To celebrate, this gorgeous red and blue vinyl is dropping at the end of the month.
With a freshly sobered John Frusciante back in the saddle, replacing Dave Navarro, the Chili Peppers cranked out some of their biggest hits to date: the iconic title track, "Scar Tissue," and "Otherside" – which belongs in the Drug Addiction Song Hall of Fame.
June 14: Perennial - Art History (2024)
Get Vinyl: Kelly Green Splatter | Black inside Kelly Green | Black | Discogs
Connecticut trio Perennial unleashed a sonic tornado with new album Art History. In just 21 minutes, they cram in 12 frantic tracks bursting with loud vocals, electric organs, fuzzy guitars, and drums that could wake the dead.
June 15: Pretty Lights - Taking Up Your Precious Time (2006)
No Vinyl Yet (or is there?)
Pretty Lights, which had been on hiatus for the past five years, is back on tour and headlined opening day of Bonnaroo with two electric shows. You can check out all four hours of jams below.
I went back and listened to Pretty Lights’ debut album Taking Up Your Precious Time, which is damn near 20 years old. No vinyl exists of this, likely due to licensing difficulty. However, earlier this month, a vinyl listing was added to Discogs, a “bootleg fan pressing, limited to 100 copies.” One copy was just sold for $300. Tough to find anymore information on the matter, comment if you know more.
June 16: John Carroll Kirby - Blowout (2023)
Get Vinyl: Black | Discogs
Shoutout to reader
for hitting the DMs and recommending John Carroll Kirby, after seeing them open for Khruangbin. Their most recent album, Blowout, transports you beachside with calypso melodies aided by keyboards, flutes, and steel drums.June 17: CASIOPEA - MINT JAMS (1982)
Get Vinyl: Sold Out | Discogs
Japanese jazz fusion at its finest. Was waiting for a repress of this one and the vinyl gods delivered. The mix here is next level for a live performance.
June 18: CASIOPEA - CASIOPEA (1979)
Get Vinyl: Sold Out | Discogs
Still on my Casiopea shit. Yes, this is the good stuff.
June 19: Sufjan Stevens - The Age of Adz (2010)
Get Vinyl: Purple | Discogs
Just watched Mic The Snare’s new deep dive on Sufjan Stevens, and it's a banger — impressive, thorough, and hilarious as always.
I'm with him on this: The Age of Adz is Sufjan's best album, and closer "Impossible Soul" is his magnum opus, a 25-minute, five-part freakout jam.
June 20: Zsela - Big For You (2024)
Get Vinyl: Watersprite Blue (Signed) | Black | Discogs
Brookyln artist Zsela dropped a nice little debut album last week. Her otherworldly, husky falsetto, evocative of Tracy Chapman, captivates throughout the 33 minute runtime.
Standout track "Fire Excape" begins as a slow jam, evolves with a funky bassline, and then hits you unexpectedly with an explosion of synth horns. Big For You is full of such surprises.
June 21: Been Stellar - Scream From New York, NY (2024)
Get Vinyl: Black | Discogs
Midnight listen! Had to dive into this the second it dropped. Produced by the legend Dan Carey, Been Stellar's debut album, Screams from New York, NY, blends massive garage rock riffs with ethereal shoegaze melodies and laid-back vocals, like some unholy mix of Smashing Pumpkins, Ride, and The Strokes.
June 22: Wilson Pickett - Hey Jude (1969)
Get Vinyl: VMP Black | Discogs
I grabbed one of those damaged mystery boxes from Vinyl Me, Please, and it was mostly trash and stuff I already had. But one gem stood out: Wilson Pickett’s Hey Jude. The title track, a Beatles cover, is an all-timer and features a career-launching guitar appearance by Duane Allman.
June 23: The War On Drugs - Lost In The Dream (2014)
Get Vinyl: Orange Crush | Discogs
Urban Outfitters had the tenth anniversary of The War on Drugs’ Lost in the Dream 50% off, so I had to snag it. It's easily in my top ten favorites of the last decade.
The War on Drugs' third album was a laborious project, with Adam Granduciel obsessing over details for over two years. This painstaking process resulted in a stunningly beautiful hour of music that gains more luster with each listen.
June 24: MJ Lenderman - Boat Songs (2022)
Get Vinyl: Black | Discogs
MJ Lenderman just announced a new album and dropped new single “She’s Leaving You,” an instant Best Song of the Year candidate. That’s all the excuse I needed to go on an MJ binge.
June 25: Blush - Supercrush (2023)
Get Vinyl: Blue/Black Mix | Discogs
For fans of Lush and Slowdive, I recommend the debut Supercrush from Singapore quartet Blush. Fall in love with this hidden treasure filled with swirling guitars and velvety vocals.
Blush's label No Sleep is shutting down, and they are having a massive fire sale, with this vinyl going for just $6.25. No-brainer.
June 26: Prince - Purple Rain (1984)
Get Vinyl: Purple Splatter | Discogs
Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of landmark Prince album Purple Rain. Celebrate with a limited edition, one-off pressing on purple splatter wax.
June 27: The Smashing Pumpkins - Rotten Apples (2001)
Get Vinyl: Rotten Apple Red | Black
Today, we got the official announcement that Rotten Apples – The Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits will be available on vinyl for the first time. The best-looking variant is coming from Walmart in a striking rotten apple red, arriving on August 9.
June 28: I Saw The TV Glow Soundtrack (2024)
Get Vinyl: Clear Pink Swirl
The best movie soundtrack of the year, hands down, is I Saw The TV Glow, a throwback to when soundtracks featured original songs from buzzworthy artists. This A24 film boasts an all-star lineup, including yeule, Caroline Polachek, The Weather Station, Drab Majesty, Phoebe Bridgers, Snail Mail, and my personal favorite track from Florist.
June 29: Jungle - Volcano (2023)
Get Vinyl: Black | Discogs
I've arrived in the Dominican Republic with the family for a week of rest, relaxation, Mai Tais, and tropical jams. I threw this one on beachside, blasting out the Bluetooth speaker, and the vibes were perfect.
June 30: Buena Vista Social Club - Buena Vista Social Club (1997)
Get Vinyl: Deluxe | Black | Discogs
Continuing the tropical vibes with Buena Vista Social Club's self-titled album, a collaborative effort between Cuban musicians of the pre-revolution era and American guitarist Ry Cooder.
The album revived and celebrated the timeless rhythms of the sones, guajiras, and boleros, introducing them to a global audience unfamiliar with these sounds. Throw this one on and bask in the golden age of Havana’s music scene.
Hey friends, thanks for reading and supporting indie music writing! We’ll be back next week with a look at upcoming July vinyl releases.

Gregory Porter, The Waterboys, and the Social Club? Wonderful music. Now I need to hear the tracks I don’t already know - thank you.
